Who We Are

‍More than anything, Tammy and Bill love sharing the beauty of what they’ve built. Barn on the Hill is not only their home, but a working farm they are proud to open in thoughtful ways—inviting others to experience agriculture, connect with the land, and enjoy the simple, meaningful beauty of farm life. Through carefully curated agritourism experiences, the farm offers guests opportunities to gather, learn, and appreciate the value of local farming in a setting that feels both peaceful and personal.

Tammy and Bill Koerner are the heart behind Barn on the Hill. In 2022, they purchased the property after instantly falling in love with its sweeping views and quiet countryside setting in Thornville, Ohio. After nearly a decade of living in the German Village area of Columbus, they felt called to return to a simpler way of life—one that brought them closer to family, including their two grandchildren, and back to the place Tammy had called home for over 30 years.

With a shared vision and a willingness to learn, Tammy and Bill have embraced the journey of building a working farm from the ground up. Tammy’s long-standing love of gardening—especially growing vegetables and flowers—has become the foundation of the farm. Together, they continue to expand into areas such as beekeeping, seasonal growing, and small-scale agriculture, creating a diverse and evolving farm environment.

As Barn on the Hill grows, so does their commitment to supporting agriculture in Licking County. Through farm markets, educational opportunities, and select agritourism experiences, Tammy and Bill are creating a space where community and farming come together—rooted in purpose, nurtured with care, and meant to be shared for generations to come.
