Agritourism

Barn on the Hill is a working farm in Thornville, Ohio, where the beauty of the land and the rhythm of agriculture come together in a way that’s meant to be shared. What began as a return to a simpler way of life has grown into a place where others are welcomed to experience farm life firsthand—where things are grown, cared for, and nurtured with intention. Often referred to as agritourism, this approach allows guests to connect with the land in meaningful ways, whether that’s strolling through seasonal flower fields, taking in quiet views by the pond, or simply spending time in a peaceful countryside setting.

Throughout the seasons, the farm continues to grow with flowers, vegetables, and other agricultural offerings, creating opportunities to share what is being produced on the land. Alongside these efforts, Barn on the Hill opens in thoughtful ways for small gatherings and community experiences that reflect the character of the farm. Whether visiting to celebrate, explore, or simply slow down for a while, each experience is rooted in the purpose of the land—offering a chance to connect with agriculture, with nature, and with one another.

Bazaar at the Barn Farmers Market has been a heartfelt celebration of local farms, makers, and community.

Set against the beauty of the property, it brought together a thoughtfully curated group of vendors offering fresh produce, handmade goods, and locally crafted products—creating a space where guests could slow down, connect, and enjoy the experience of shopping local. While the market is currently on pause, its spirit remains an important part of who we are.

Supporting local agriculture and small business remains at the heart of Barn on the Hill, and we look forward to the opportunity to gather again.
